Two Rakhines Buddhist arrested in Bangladesh with pistols

Ramu, Cox’s Bazar: The police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two Rakhines Buddhist with two pistols at Ramu fish market under the Cox’s Bazar district, on April 3,at about 6:30am, said a shopkeeper from Ramu market on condition of anonymity.
The arrestees Rakhines are —Linn Khine (20), son of U Mra Oo, hailed from Kathee village of Akyab, the capital of Arakan State and U Aung Kyaw (45), hailed from Buthidaung Township, Arakan State, said a police aide who declined to be named.

“Linn Khine was arrested by BGB and U Aung Kyaw was arrested by police on suspicion as they were wondering from place to place and the police and BGB found foreign made two 0.32 pistols with 22 bullets from them. The guns and bullets are in two separate packets.”
The two Rakhines claimed, were new comers from Arakan, but police found their wristwatches are set as Bangladesh Standard Time (BST). U Aung Kyaw said he was a carrier and will get taka 200,000, if he reached Arakan with guns. He is not the owner of the guns, according to Altaf, an aide of BGB.

After arrest, they were brought to Ramu Police station for further interrogations.
Some shopkeepers of Ramu market believe that they are the members of Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) who are appointed to do a special job in Bangladesh.

Some local villagers said, “They came here to kill people in Bangladesh and we heard that recently a group of Rakhine people had been sent to Bangladesh from Arakan.”
