DEMONSTRATION TODAY(9 APRIL) AT EMBASSY OF BURMA,,US and UN REGIONAL OFFICE.Urgent Appeal to End the Humanitarian crisis in Burma and stop planned genocide against Muslims in Burma.

To
Mr. Ban Ki-Moon,
The Secretary-General of the United Nations
New York.

Date: 09.04.2
Subject: 013
Bangkok.

Subject:  Urgent Appeal to End the Humanitarian crisis in Burma and stop planned genocide against Muslims in Burma.

We, the Burmese Muslim  and Rohingya in Thailand, would like to express our deep and great concern over the ongoing grave situation in Burma causing
great consideration to the people. We are sending our great urgent request to you to immediately intervene and protect  Rohingya and Muslims people of Burma from planned genocide.

We have been demonstrated and handed over letters to you couple of times and asking international protection but in vain.Your failure of timely response takes untold human lives everyday in Burma. We sincerely  would like to request you again to urgently convene United Nation Security Council Meeting to deploy UN Peace keeping Forces in affected areas in Burma. We again come to your office with a large demonstration only asking for UN protection today.

Since Wednesday March 20, many Muslims were killed, many mosques with hundreds of Muslim homes were destroyed, shops damaged and looted, and more than 30,000 displaced in the central Burma town of Meiktila and around the airport area of capital Naypyidaw. The violence spread to Yameithein and Pegu division where afew mosques  and hundreds of houses were destroyed. A lot of Muslim residents have fled their homes. Extremist Buddhist mobs with monks armed with sticks and lethal weapons are prowling the streets and hunting the Muslims. 4 Islamic religious teachers and 28 madrassa students, who included children as young as 12 years old, were among those killed and burnt alive. In Rangoon 13 students were burned alive and a boarding school and a Mosque were destroyed  .In Meikhtila, who worshiped the monks at gun point are get alive.

Surprisingly, the police and security forces did nothing to control the situation they were watching killing game. The government is fully responsible for allowing such a former Yugoslavia-like genocide encouraging anti-Muslim propaganda and Islamophobia in Burma/Myanmar. This is the worst carnage after the genocide carried out in the western state of Rakhine/Arakan last year that left more than 50000 Rohingya and Kaman Muslims killed, missing or drowned and about 200,000 displaced, who have been kept in segregation under government’s ‘neo-apartheid policy’. It is apprehensive that the racist Rakhine academics and monks backed by the local administration are inciting a third massacre of the Muslims in Arakan. Around 30 to 35 thousands Rohingys scaped genocide and voyaged to unknown destination  and one third of them drowned and the rest are whether wondering at the hand of traffickers or at prisons of neighboring countries .UNHCR rule should be more transparent  in this boat people regards.

It is also learnt that tens of thousands of Rohingya Muslims living in squalid, flood-prone camps in western Myanmar after fleeing genocide face “imminent danger” from looming monsoon rains, the UN warned on Friday.

An estimated 125,000 Rohingya and other Muslims have languished in insanitary camps since genocide flared last year with  Rakhine Buddhists, leaving scores dead and whole neighbor hoods in ruins.
They “are now in imminent danger of yet another tragedy when the monsoon rains hit.... We must act immediately to prevent a predictable tragedy,” said John Ging of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

With the monsoon expected to start in May, Ging called on the government to release new land for camps and to help rebuild shattered community relations, highlighted by the deadly outbreak of anti-Muslim violence in central Myanmar this month.
“The gravity and urgency of the situation cannot be overstated. Community and religious leaders also have a major role in promoting a culture of peace and mutual respect in multicultural and multi-ethnic Myanmar,” he added. The Rohingyas are intentionally sheltered at lowland where deadly flood is seen every year .

It has been observed that crimes against humanity against Muslims have escalated when some powerful countries are trying to reward the ruling civil-military hybrid government while lifting or suspending sanctions on Burma under the label of democratic progress. It is worth-mentioning that human rights are universal; racism and human rights violations are foreign to democracy; and most importantly genocide, ethnic cleansing and apartheid are international crimes.

We, strongly condemns the increasing anti-Muslim propaganda and organized killings and burning  of the Muslims in Burma/Myanmar.We also condemned inhuman torture of religious leaders in the name of inquiry at police custody in Rangoon. In this connection ,we finally like to inform you that more than three thousands Rohingyas and Muslims are suffering in different prisons of Arakan and proper Burma. We would  also like to ask to play your good office to release them .They all are innocent .
We ,therefore

1.We demand that the government must end forthwith all killing, violence and terrorization against the Muslims in Burma/Myanmar and ensure full religious freedom with their security of life, property and dignity.

2.We demand that the government  must stop spreading of such pre-planned genocide  against Muslims in other places of Burma under the leadership of racist Wirathu 969 promoter.

3.We urged the immediate action to stop this serious genocide, ethnic cleaning by sending UN peace keeping force to Burma to protect and save the remaining Rohingyas and Muslims of Burma as quickly as possible.

4. We urge International Humanitarian group to step up its presence in Arakan State to support humanitarian work independently under the protection of UN Army. We would also like to called International media to monitor closely on the serious situation in Burma .

5.We also demand that the UN constitutes an independent and impartial inquiry commission on investigate the crime against Humanity and bring the culprits to justice .I t's our ardent request to conduct a UN independent inquiry and bring the perpetrators to the book.

6.Request to reinstate sanctions in order to protect the Muslims of Burma ,Rohingya and other minorities, promote human rights and inclusive democratic and political reforms in Burma. We believe that suspension of sanctions on Burma is premature in this stage.

7.Demand that to scrap Military dictator Ne Win drafted Burma Citizenship Law of 1982 (known as Black law) and to replace it with a new law that conform to international law standards.Every lost rights and properties of Muslims must be honored  and regained.

Thank you.

Faithfully,

(Maung Kyaw Nu)
