Two Rohingya Girls Raped by Security Force in Southern Maung Daw

 Maung Daw, Arakan- Around 10AM on 16^th August 2013, six Hlun Htein (Security Force) from the camp based at Tun Chaung (Kunnia Fara), southern Maung Daw, raided the house of Anayat Ullah S/o Abdu Manaf (Age-38). Then, two Hlun Hteins raped two girls in the house.

An eyewitness reported the account as follows.

“Six Hlun Hteins raided the house of Anayat Ullah. He was handcuffed and dragged out of his house. Then, two Hlun Hteins entered the house and raped two girls present in the house. Both are around 23 years old. One was his sister and another was his sister’s friend visiting their house. (Names are not being revealed for privacy).

Besides, Anayat Ullah was arrested and detained by the security force under a lame accusation of involving in the violence. We think he was detained to divert the people’s attention from the rape crimes they (security force) had committed. Now, Security Force are inhumanely demanding a humongous amount of money for his release.

These kinds of tragedies are frequent these days. Some victims dare speak out against injustices they face and some dare not. Security Force and Police are proving more brutal and worse than NaSaKa wer.”

Elsewhere, Rohingyas in Rathedaung township and Min-Bra township are critically in need of doctors and medical access. Doctors from AZG (MSF) used to visit these areas once or twice a week. Now, Rakhine extremists are even blocking and preventing these doctors from visiting these areas. Many Rohingyas are facing widespread and epidemic diseases.
